Safety Coordinator Nights
Kalos is currently in search of a dynamic and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recognizing and controlling exposures in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple trades working throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of safety requirements, and the ability to build collaborative teams to reduce and control exposures within the work site.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and exposures on multiple construction sites.
- Execute policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and those of our customers.
- Provide guidance and support to superintendents, project managers, and trades to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and site leaders on safety practices and promote a culture that values safety throughout sites.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are met and maintained in accordance with OSHA and our customer’s requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction safety, and incorporate them into our culture.
- Foster open communication channels to encourage reporting of safety concerns and near misses.
- Lead safety committee meetings and actively engage with employees to address their safety concerns and suggestions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements, particularly in the construction industry.
- Proven experience implementing safety programs and policies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong observation and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop effective control measures and the recognition of exposure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple trades and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a collaborative safety-focused team.
- Professional certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are highly desirable. OSHA 30 Construction is a requirement.
- Prior experience in construction safety or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent driving record

- Travel is required within the state of Florida
- Travel 100% within the state home daily, with the exception of occasional overnight stays, is required for up to 1-3 nights.
